BY VOSTRO PRIVATE WEALTH

Get to know our experts with our “Speed Dating” Q&A! We’ve asked some quick, light-hearted questions to give you a glimpse into their personalities, passions, and approach to financial planning. From what inspires them to their favourite meal, you’ll discover why they’re dedicated to helping you achieve financial success with a few surprises along the way.

What inspired you to work in financial planning, and what do you love most about it?

I was originally planning to pursue architecture until halfway through my final year of high school, when my careers advisor suggested I consider some backup options. I’ve always loved mathematics if there’s one thing I could happily do forever, it would be something maths-related. After researching careers that use maths day-to-day, I discovered financial planning. What I love most is being able to give back by helping people manage their finances and become more financially confident.

If you could give your younger self one piece of financial advice, what would it be?

You have to spend money to make money. Saving is an essential skill, but there’s a difference between saving and hoarding. What you do with your money is just as important, whether that’s investing wisely or treating yourself to a small sweet treat every now and then.

If you weren’t in financial planning, what career would you be in?

Architecture. I’m a very creative person and love being artsy in any way I can, but I’m also meticulous and enjoy precision. Architecture perfectly combines both sides of my personality.

What’s one small financial habit that can make a big difference over time?

Waiting for sales. It can feel great to buy something straight away, but if it’s not a necessity, patience pays off. Saving even a dollar here and there really adds up over time.

What’s one meal you could eat every day and never get sick of?

Pizza. Next question.

If you could have dinner with any three people, living or dead, who would they be?

Robert Downey Jr., Stan Lee, and Sabrina Carpenter.

What’s one thing on your bucket list that you haven’t done yet?

…make a bucket list.
