"Speed Dating" Q&A

We know that choosing who to trust with your financial future is a deeply personal decision, and the best relationships are built on more than just credentials. That's why we invited our team to step out from behind the spreadsheets and let you see the people behind the advice.

Chris

Q What inspired you to work in financial planning, and what do you love most about it?

I have always enjoyed solving problems and helping people make sense of complex information. Financial planning appealed to me because it combines technical knowledge, strategy and real-world outcomes for clients. What I enjoy most is seeing how good advice can give people confidence, structure and peace of mind about their future.

Q If you could give your younger self one piece of financial advice, what would it be?

Start earlier and be consistent. You do not need to make perfect investment decisions, but developing good habits early, saving regularly and giving investments time to compound can make an enormous difference over the long term.

Financial planning and investment

Q If you weren't in financial planning, what career would you be in?

Probably something in technology or systems improvement. My background is in IT and I have always enjoyed finding ways to make processes more efficient, solve technical problems and improve how businesses operate.

Q What's one small financial habit that can make a big difference over time?

Pay yourself first. Even setting aside a small amount automatically each pay cycle can build strong financial discipline and create long-term wealth without needing to think about it constantly.

Good financial habits

Q What's one meal you could eat every day and never get sick of?

A good doner kebab. Simple, reliable and hard to beat when it's done well.

Q If you could have dinner with any three people, living or dead, who would they be?

Warren Buffett, because of his investment wisdom and long-term perspective, Anthony Bourdain for the stories and food, and Arnold Schwarzenegger, because of his discipline, humour and incredible life story.

Anthony Bourdain

Q What's one thing on your bucket list that you haven't done yet?

I would love to spend more time travelling through Europe with my family, particularly revisiting some favourite places and exploring new ones at a slower pace.

We hope you enjoyed getting to know Chris a little better. Stay tuned for more team profiles coming soon.
