1. What inspired you to work in financial planning, and what do you love most about it?
I’ve always been drawn to the opportunity which financial planning can provide. However what I love about it most is working with people every day. Getting to know everyone’s different situations provides variation from day to day to help find a solution that’s personalised and suits their needs.2. If you could give your younger self one piece of financial advice, what would it be?
Don’t compare yourself with others, we’ve all had different experiences with money that shape the way we view it. It’s important to remember that and stay focused on yourself.3. If you weren’t in financial planning, what career would you be in?
I would work in beauty or fashion. I love how clothes and makeup help people with their confidence and self-expression. However, I’m hardly a creative, so definitely better suited as a consumer in this space.
4. What’s one small financial habit that can make a big difference over time?
Carve out funds for yearly expenses each pay cycle. You’ll often get a discount for paying annually instead of monthly, but that means you have to front up the cash all at once—which hurts. If you budget these with each paycheck, you’ll have the funds ready when the invoice comes around. It feels a lot less painful when you know you have the funds available.5. What’s one meal you could eat every day and never get sick of?
Lasagne (call me Garfield) – It’s been my birthday meal for years and that’s not changing any time soon.
