R U OK? Day at Vostro

A look back at how our team checked in with each other this year.

Key points

  • Our team marked R U OK? Day with meaningful conversations, activities and a bit of fun.
  • A "one thing that helps me on a hard day" Post-it Wall and a compliments poster encouraged everyone to open up and support one another.
  • The day was a reminder that a simple check-in, or just being there to listen, can mean more than we realise.
R U OK Day

💛 R U OK? Day is a great reminder that looking after our mental health can start with something as simple as asking, "Are you okay?" and genuinely taking the time to listen.

This year, our team came together to recognise R U OK? Day with some meaningful conversations, activities and, of course, a bit of fun.

How we marked the day

Team learning about R U OK Day conversations

We had the opportunity to learn more about how to start meaningful conversations and support mental wellbeing. One of the activities that was a big hit was our "One thing that helps me on a hard day" Post-it Wall. Everyone could share something that helps them get through a difficult day, whether it was a small habit, a favourite activity or simply something that helps lift their mood. It was great to see how many different things can help us through challenging moments.

We also had a poster where we could leave compliments for each other. Sometimes, we all need a little reminder that we are appreciated, and it was lovely to see everyone taking the time to recognise and encourage one another.

Bringing the team together

To finish things off, we brought everyone together to play board games and card games. It was a great opportunity to refresh our minds, have a few laughs and connect with each other outside of our usual work.

Final thoughts

What we took away from the day is that we never really know what someone else might be going through. A simple check-in, a genuine conversation, or just being there to listen can mean more than we realise.

Let's keep checking in with each other, not just on R U OK? Day, but every day.
